I have received messages about logging into Naviance and wanted to make sure everyone has the information. Go to www.austinisd.org and click on Naviance, then Anderson. This will take you to the log in screen. Enter the student ID where it says “email” and again for the password. (You do not need a registration code) Once logged in, you can change the password to whatever you like….please make sure your student knows the password! For those that receive multiple messages whenever I send an email from Naviance, this is because your email address is listed multiple times. You’ll need to go to the profile and delete any duplicate information. As always, let me know if you need help.
For those seniors planning to attend ACC next fall, advisors will be at Anderson on March 30 and 31. Please make sure they are checking for emails and announcements to sign up for this. These students are also able to apply for the ACC College Connections Scholarship, which is due April 1. Information regarding the scholarship can be found in Naviance. I’ve only heard from three seniors that they plan to attend ACC. I know there are more than this. It’s important they notify me. If they miss the March advising, it will be their responsibility to go to ACC and meet with an advisor on their own.
More scholarships are in Naviance. One that I was just emailed about is the Austin Energy scholarship. If a student is in the top 50% percent of the class and plans to major in math, science or an environmental field, they are eligible to apply. Information, as well the application are on Naviance. The deadline to submit the completed application to me is April 9th. They are only competing against Anderson students, there is no reason not to apply for this scholarship.
Upcoming visits to Anderson include UTSA and University of Arkansas. More will sign up as the National College Fair approaches. Remember these visits are for juniors and seniors and it is their responsibility to monitor the schedule in Naviance and register ahead. If students show up without registering ahead, they will be sent back to class.
