    President’s Corner

    Congratulation to the varsity football team for their exciting win over Bastrop Thursday! Last week’s spirit days, the pep rally, the football game, and the homecoming dance were a great way to bring the  student body and their families together to celebrate our blue and gold Trojan pride.

    We are 1½ weeks away from our Town Hall meeting on adolescent alcohol and drug use entitled lucid. All students and parents are highly encouraged to attend this program. It is designed to be interactive and engaging and give parents the perfect opening to begin a dialogue with their children on this important issue. While it is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, you’ll want to arrive early to get a good seat and hear Alpha Rev (http://www.myspace.com/alpharev) open the program with one of their awesome songs. Alpha Rev’s lead singer, Casey McPherson, will be on the panel, as will several experts, UT students, and two Anderson High School students committed to keeping their peers clean and safe.

    The PTSA’s monthly general meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 23.  It is open to everyone and begins at 7 p.m. in room 130. Please visit the PTSA website, andersonptsa.com, to view the tentative agenda. Hope to see you there!
