I hope all of you with family in southeast Texas have received good reports after Hurricane Ike came through. My parents and siblings in the Houston area called Saturday morning to report that besides having no power, a couple fences down at their homes, and some shingles blown off, they are all fine. I wish the best to your families. If an organized effort develops at our school to assist evacuees here, in Austin, we’ll let you know via a supplemental Trojan Times. Thanks to those of you who brought in supplies and offered assistance on Thursday and Friday as we prepared for evacuees to stay at our school.
Our second PTSA meeting of the year is this Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in room 130. Please plan to attend. We’ll be receiving committee reports from our standing committees and discussing the PTSA’s participation in a school-wide, adult-only Casino Night Fundraiser. This event will allow all booster clubs and organizations who participate to raise money to support their projects. Another benefit of attending the PTSA meeting: Mrs. Houser reports on the latest happenings at the school. It’s a great opportunity to learn what’s going on at Anderson and to have your questions answered. Hope to see you there!
