The year is off to a good start: we’ve completed one week of school and are in the middle of a much-needed three-day weekend. Many thanks to the teachers, staff, and parent volunteers who worked last week to see that our kids’ needs were met.
All students should have received and returned to the school their first day packet forms, including the white 290s. We are grateful to those of you who also returned your PTSA membership application and dues. The PTSA is currently sitting at 1325 members. Our goal, though, is to have one membership for every student enrolled, making our target about 2100. That’s a lofty goal, but I think it’s doable. Parents, grandparents, and students, please consider joining the PTSA. Forms can be found on the website, www.andersonptsa.com, in the school office, or at the PTSA table at Back to School Night on Wednesday. The PTSA promotes all students at Anderson and is a source of volunteers to keep the school’s day-to-day operations moving forward. We provide communication through the Trojan Times, school directory, and website and organize great events such as Project Graduation and the Baccalaureate Ceremony. This year, we are also planning to bring a new alcohol and drug awareness education program for parents and students to the school on Oct. 29. You’ll hear more about this in the weeks to come. So, we ask you , again, to please become a member of the award-winning Anderson PTSA!
