    Girls Giving Grants

    Girls Giving Grants is seeking new members from young women in grades 8 through 12 for its unique community service opportunity during the school year 2008-2009. Those who join make a $100 donation and a commitment of their time and energy. The year ends with members awarding a grant to the local nonprofit of their choice, based on their own research and evaluation over the previous winter months. Grants are funded each year by pooling the membership donations. This year’s group of 57 girls was able to award $5,700 to their selection, LifeWorks.
