El Ranchito is a week-long overnight nature-immersion summer camp for
economically disadvantaged youth in 4th through 9th grades. Each week is
filled with explorations, demonstrations, field trips, a service project, healthy food,
and nights under a starry sky. Thanks to generous foundation grants and gifts,
qualifying campers attend for a minimal fee. Camp tuition is $25 per session
for families who qualify. Our camp is sponsored by Westcave Preserve,
Shield Ranch, and El Buen Samaritano.
For summer camp 2008 there are three weekly camp sessions, for kids entering
these grade levels in the fall:
Session I is June 8-13, 2008, 4th & 5th grades, 28 spaces available
Session II is June 15-20, 2008, 6th & 7th grades, 28 spaces available
Session III is June 22-27, 2008, 8th & 9th grades, 24 spaces available
We ask that interested families either call me at 694-0101, or call Mary Castilla
of El Buen Samaritano, 809-5655, to reserve a spot for their child. Then we ask
them to meet with us at El Buen Samaritano on select Sunday afternoons for an
informal interview, and to fill out all the paperwork together.
