« “Into The Woods” - this week! | Messages | Project Graduation Geraniums for Sale Now! »
On Thursday, January 17, there was a meeting for the senior class. Students were given a packet from Project ADVANCE containing financial aid information as well as a college timeline for this semester. Herff Jones was there to talk about graduation announcements and other important graduation items. Finally, students were reminded to reconcile any obligations such as library fees, missing credit for classes, end of year book turn in, etc. If this is not taken care of, students will not receive a diploma at graduation, or a final transcript.
If your student missed the meeting, we have extra materials, as well as typed notes in the Project ADVANCE office.
As you may or may not have heard, this is the last year that DELL will be funding the Project ADVANCE program. They have been gracious enough to take care of us for the last five years and it is now time for us to be funded elsewhere. This does not mean that Project ADVANCE has to go away. We are currently working on securing funding for next school year, and hopefully longer. However, we need your support. If Project ADVANCE has helped you or your child, please take a moment to write an anecdotal letter of support. Don’t worry about statistics or any formal information, just speak about your individual experience. Letters can be emailed to myself at michele.reynolds@austinisd.org or Roy Larson at rlarson@austinis.org.
