Senior parents - on October 29-31 your students will be meeting with myself and the guidance counselors for senior credit checks during their English class. Not only will they go over their credits, I will also be speaking to them about the college application process.
The next meeting for senior parents will be on Wednesday, November 14 at 7pm in the theater. We will be discussing how to fund your child’s education with financial aid and scholarships. Freshman parents are invited to a Brown Bag lunch on November 8 12-1pm. We will be discussing how to get a head start on college planning.
A note about letters of recommendation - Please remember that teachers and counselors have three weeks to complete and send out letters of recommendation from the day your child turns in a completed recommendation packet. It is the student’s responsibility to consider application deadlines as well as this three week window. Teachers and counselors are writing a large number of other letters as well as handling other school business and their personal lives. It is not appropriate for students to yell at their letter writers across the hallways, send aggressive emails, or leave aggressive voicemails. We know this is a very stressful time for students and will work as best we can.
