    Other Documents Needed: Completed application; one-page essay; official high school transcript; ACT/SAT scores; parent’s/student’s most recent federal income tax return; three letters of recommendation (school official [counselors, teachers or principal], peer [student friend], and personal [minister, neighbor or family friend]; and student photo (digital via email). Application and required materials must be RECEIVED by November 8th.
    Qualifications: Graduating 2008 high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must be enrolled in a public school in Bastrop, Travis, Williamson or Hays Counties and be a U.S. citizen.
    Additional Information: Applications evaluated based on financial need, degree of school and community involvement, academic achievement, letters of recommendation, and essay. The Austin Area Urban League Achievement Matters Scholarship Program is intended to support the academic endeavors of minority and disadvantaged youth from low to moderate income families. A letter of enrollment required prior to payment of the scholarship. Scholarship winners will be notified on or about January 14, 2008.
