    WHAT IS THE TERRY SCHOLARSHIP?
    The Terry Foundation Scholarship is for spring 2008 graduates of Texas high schools who demonstrate scholastic achievement, leadership ability and financial need.

    WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE TERRY SCHOLARSHIP?
    The Terry Foundation scholarship offers an up-to-full ride scholarship for the students who receive it each year. This year’s Terry Scholars received an average award of $13,750 for the 2007-2008 academic year. Students nominated to the Foundation possessed an average SAT of 1200 (combined math and critical reading) and were ranked in the top 10% of their graduating classes. Ninety percent of the students nominated attended public high schools and were entering the University in majors ranging from the humanities and business to science, engineering and architecture.

    HOW TO APPLY
    The UH Terry Scholarship committee at the University of Houston seeks strong candidates to nominate to the Foundation for interviews. Last year, the Committee reviewed 140+ applications from students all over Texas and nominated 32 candidates, 16 of which were eventually chosen as UH Terry Scholars.     DEADLINE TO APPLY
    Please encourage your qualified students to submit their completed Terry application, together with the supporting materials at their earliest opportunity, but no later than February 1, 2008. All applications sent via U.S. mail must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2008.
